Peekaboo! I see you, lizard! It's some sort of reptile hiding from the desert sun and from the nosy geologist with the camera. He's a resident of Vaughan Gulch, near Owens Valley, California. He's hiding in a fossiliferous limestone, and I just noticed that there's a nice crinoid stem cross-section over on the right (the "o" shaped fossil).
